This Wasn’t in the Plan, but Here I Am—Get Ready to Laugh!

It’s been two weeks since my last post. And honestly? I haven’t touched this project since.

Why?

Morning sickness hit me like a truck.

I felt drained—lazy, even. My brain was in a fog, and by the time I got home each day, my energy for anything creative was completely gone.

Writing posts? Creating content? It all felt like too much.

But now, here I am, writing this post.

Because during that period of stillness, something happened.

I started thinking.

I came across a quote I remember hearing years ago:

“The most important work doesn’t happen while you’re working. It happens while you’re thinking—while you’re reflecting on what the work should be.”

And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

Thinking. Meditating. Dreaming—sometimes subconsciously (because let’s be real, I do some of my best thinking in my sleep).

Here’s what I’ve realized:

I don’t want to just create content for the sake of it. I don’t want to churn out videos like every other person on Instagram or YouTube.

I don’t want to be one in a million.

I want to create a blue ocean for myself—a space that’s uniquely mine.

And I’ve figured out one way to do that: I want to become a great storyteller.

Not in the “Disney movie” or “Pixar” sense. No, I’m talking about a different kind of storytelling:

The ability to craft narratives that move people—to connect, inspire, and guide them toward an end goal.

Because the truth is, great salespeople are great storytellers.

And that’s what I aspire to be.

I want to master storytelling, not just for short, snappy social media posts, but also for longer, more impactful pieces of content.

Why? Because storytelling is the backbone of so much more. It’s what makes marketing compelling. It’s what turns a good ad into one that people remember.

Eventually, I hope to take this skill and apply it to helping businesses.

To create marketing campaigns that captivate.
To produce persuasive, scroll-stopping videos.
To hold someone’s attention for 60 seconds—and leave a lasting impression.

This is the journey I’m stepping into. To learn, to grow, and to tell stories that make moves.

Here’s how I plan to get started:

  • Document Stories That Inspire Me
I’ll capture stories that move me—moments from my daily life, or meaningful tales shared by family, friends, or even strangers I encounter.
    • Practice Crafting Stories with Purpose
With these stories, I’ll practice writing and weaving them into compelling narratives that lead to a clear call to action. It’s all about honing the craft. For now, I’m thinking of sharing these as weekly posts on platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook, giving myself space to improve with each one.
    • Focus on 1% Growth Every Day
I’ll commit to small, consistent progress. Just 1% better each day, step by step, as I refine my storytelling skills.

I’m on a journey to master the art of storytelling because, at its core, great storytelling is the heart of successful selling—and I know it’s a skill worth mastering.

    Until next time,

    Grace R.
